For years, the Adidas Ultraboost has a been a firm favourite with both runners and fashionistas alike. And with the Adidas Ultraboost 21, that trend is unlikely to see a downturn.

The debate as to whether this shoe really is a genuine running shoe or more of a fashion shoe is of entirely subjective, but from my experience, the Ultraboost, in its various iterations has always held up extremely well as a versatile and robust daily trainer for everyday running.

For those who have long enjoyed the plush bounce from the Boost midsole foam, you’ll be delighted to hear that the Adidas Ultraboost 21 has 6% more Boost jammed into it, for extra response off the ground and energy return.

The biggest change we see from the Ultraboost 20 is the arrival of the new torsion control system, the LEP (Linear Energy Push);  a horseshoe-shaped insert underneath the midsole providing additional stiffness acting as a reinforcement and therefore providing runners with less flex in the forefoot and improved responsiveness – not only to provide a snappier push off the ground but also to guide the foot quicker through the gait cycle and encourage less overpronation.

6% more boost!

The Primeknit upper has been made a little bit stiffer, and the mesh itself is made with their PrimeBlue material, Adidas’s own recycled material containing at least 50% Parley Ocean Plastic.

As previously, the heel-to-toe drop remains at 10mm (20.5mm in the forefoot and 30.5mm in the heel) so is still a great option for the mass-market or runners who first and foremost need a reliable and comfortable shoe for steady runs while having the flexibility for the odd faster session.

Be seen with the Screaming Yellow colourway! 😮

The Adidas Ultaboost 21 comes in 8 colours for Men & 8 colours for Women, but as per the previous models, Adidas will undoubtedly release many more colourways in the coming months.
